Club Rules

GTD40 Car Club Rules:

1.    TITLE.

The name of the club shall be “GTD40 Car Club” herein after referred to as “The Club”. 

2.    OBJECTIVES.

a)    To further interest in motoring and motorsport
b)    To provide members with information, advice and assistance on matters connected with motoring and
     motorsport, especially
with regard to the GT40.
c)    To watch the local administration of the laws and regulations affecting motoring and motorsport and
     to report any proposed
local action or scheme to the RAC MSA Ltd.
d)    To promote competitions in accordance with the rules of the RAC MSA Ltd.
e)    To arrange tours, lectures, discussions and social and other meetings.
f)     To afford members such benefits and privileges as it may be possible to arrange.

3.    CONSTITUTION.

Ladies and Gentlemen of not less than 17 years of age shall be eligible for associate membership.  The membership will consist of:
a)   Associate members
b)   Competition members
c)   Honorary members

All associate members may apply to the Committee for competition membership if they own or have use of a suitable vehicle and wish to enter in competitive events as a member of the Club.

4.    MANAGEMENT.

The authority and responsibility for the transaction of the business of the Club for its management shall be vested in the Committee, who, in addition to the powers and authorities by these rules expressly conferred on them, may exercise all powers and do all acts in furtherance of the objects for which the Club is established or done by the Club in General Meeting.

5.     ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

The President of the Club is an honorary member whose appointment is made by the membership and does not require re-election each year.  The Club Secretary (Treasurer), Webmaster and Competition Secretary shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting and are subject to termination of offices at the next Annual General Meeting following their appointment.  The retiring officers shall be eligible for re-election.


6.    COMMITTEE.

The Committee shall consist of not less than three and not more than ten competition members.  One half of the committee shall form a quorum.

7.   MEETINGS OF COMMITTEE.

The Secretary either of his own accord or by the direction of the Chairman shall unless otherwise agreed by all the Committee give at least seven days written notice of a meeting.

8.    ABSENCE FROM COMMITTEE.

Any member of the Committee who shall be, without sufficient reason, absent from three consecutive Committee Meetings may be called upon to resign his position on the Committee.

9.    DUTIES OF SECRETARY.

It shall be the duty of the Secretary to attend in person or by deputy all meetings of the club all meetings of the Committee to take minutes of the proceedings.  Such minutes shall be entered in a book and be presented for confirmation at the next meeting.

10. BANKING.

The Treasurer in the name of the Club shall bank all moneys of the club and no disbursements shall be made therefrom  except in accordance with the form of forms authorised by the Committee.

11. ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

All associate members are required to agree to the Rules of the Club before being granted access to the Club’s website.  Associate members may apply to the Committee to become a competition member if they own or have use of a suitable vehicle and wish to enter in competitive events as a member of the Club.  The decision of the Committee in all matters relating to competition membership will be final.

12. VOTING COMMITTEE MEMBERS.

Each member present at a meeting of the Committee shall be entitled to exercise one vote.  The Committee shall vote by ballot if any member present so demands.  A vote of one third against any application for membership shall exclude from membership.

13. USE OF THE CLUB NAME AND ADDRESS.

The name and address of the club shall not be given by a member as his address for trade, advertising or business purposes or in connection with any legal proceedings.

14. HONORARY MEMBERS & ASSOCIATE MEMBERS.

The Committee may elect al Honorary Members all members of Royal Families and any persons distinguished for their political, scientific, literary, industrial or administrative capacities, or who have been distinguished in promoting the cause of motoring in general or the Club in particular. Associate members may register on the club website to gain access to data the committee has deemed suitable for general publication.  Honorary and Associate members do not have voting rights.

15. THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.

The Annual General Meeting of the Club shall be held in October each year upon a date fixed by the Committee.  The Annual General Meeting will be open for all competition members to attend and shall:

a)    Receive from the Treasurer a full statement of accounts duly audited showing the receipts, expenditure
    and reserve fund as at 30th September that year.

b)    Receive from the Committee a report on the activities of the Club during the past year.
c)    Elect a Committee for the following year.
d)    Decide upon any resolution submitted to the meeting as herein under provided.

Once the business of the meeting is concluded, competition and other awards will be presented by the Competition Secretary.

16. COPIES OF THE RULES.

Every member shall agree to abide by the rules on the Club on joining.  A copy of the club rules will be available on the Club Website or by written request from the Committee.
